Over the next several months, keep a close eye on
The Barker and your email for our monthly membership meeting location.
The Fire Department where we usually
meet is being renovated and we will be meeting at different locations
depending on where we can find a room. I had no idea that Fire Department
and Library rooms were in such high demand until Jan started to explain
the travails she has been going through over the last few months while
trying to find a place for us to meet.
The Dog Show that Nancy Warfield and Vandra Huber coordinated for
the Kellogg Middle School was not only fun for all who participated,
but was very well received by the students. The students participated
in selecting their favorite dogs from Groups. Mike and Vandra’s
Scottie puppies were lovely, not quite sure to make of the noisy gymnasium,
and the students loved them. The students also participated in the
Obedience demonstration by acting as the posts for the Figure Eights.
Nancy encouraged enough students to volunteer that we were able to
perform three Figure Eights simultaneously. Dante did a few retrieves
over the high jump and the Utility signal exercise to wind up the
Obedience demonstration. Don Martin brought Mark, his Old English
Sheepdog, who is a trained Service Dog. Don talked about Service Dogs
and how they assist their people. A member of the school staff spoke
briefly about rescue organizations and presented her rescue Irish
Water Spaniel to complete the program. The school put several pictures
of the Show on their website http://schools.shorelineschools.org/kellogg/dogshow.html
.
And the 22 August 2004 Show at Marymoor Park is finally starting to
come together. YEAH!! Please call, or email, Bo or Jan if you would
like to help with the show.
