notes

Members present: Karin Cartwright, Bev Little, Rusty Kingery, Dee Carlson, Jan Leikam, Reggie Gausman, Bo Gloster, Deb Lewy.

Dee called the meeting to order at 7:45. Bev moved and Rusty seconded that the minutes be approved as published in The Barker. Passed.

No President’s Report.

No Secretary’s Report.

Jan passed around Patty Hull’s Treasurer’s Report. Correspondence: We received a thank-you note from the Kellogg Middle School for the dog show assembly.

Report of the Board
The board discussed the grounds at Marymoor and where the August 2004 show will be. A meeting with Marymoor on the 21st led to the decision of using the soccer fields by the velodrome but there are restrictions on some of the fields, making it tricky to set up the rings. There is still a question on parking with Marymoor Park and using Lot 1. There will be no electricity offered.

Jessica Wilcock will be off work that day and we could ask her to be the on-site vet in addition to ring stewarding. We should offer to pay her. Redwood Vet could be the Friday standby vet; also, we can have an off-site vet on standby for Saturday and Sunday.

Deb offered to sell catalogs on Sunday.

Rally judge—David Denis; we may use him for January in non-regular classes. Reggie, who is publicity chairman, suggested we publicize the rally as it will be the first one of the year offering all three levels. We discussed an ad or notice in the Gazette. We talked about the show rally and use of the new building at the Puyallup fairgrounds. Note that the Hilton is now the Sheraton. The Saturday evening event will be in the Sheraton.

Unfinished Business
Jan moves that we untable club delegate being automatically on the board. Deb seconds, passed. We need to do this because it would require a constitutional amendment for the club.

New Business
Fire station #27 will be under construction until the end of the year. The June meeting will be a picnic/barbecue at Marymoor. SAM will pay for drinks and meat. We need to find places to meet until the end of the year.

AKC Delegate Report
Bo wants feedback on awarding a 3-point major at national specialties for RWD and RWB if the number of dogs is twice the number required for the points. This could be determined by the national clubs also. Most at the meeting were for the rewarding of points for RWD and RWB. The club would like the Delegate report and agenda for The Barker.

Meeting adjourned at 9:07 p.m.
